Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer for Piedmont Council of the Arts and be part of the arts in Central Virginia! Many of PCA’s programs and services rely heavily on volunteer support and community involvement. We welcome and appreciate new volunteers as integral parts of our team.

Here are just some of the ways that you can work with PCA to support your local arts community:

Arts Awards

• Help publicize and solicit nominations from the community for the annual Arts Awards, which honor artists, arts educators, organizations, and businesses for significant contributions to the arts.
• Assist with planning or sponsorship solicitation for the annual special event that recognizes and celebrates the Arts Award winners.

Arts Calendars and Directories

• Help PCA stay up-to-date with the arts in Central Virginia by gathering information on cultural events or serving as an online arts calendar manager.
• Support and connect with local artists by updating PCA’s online artist directory. Learn about the plethora of arts venues in Central Virginia by assisting with the upkeep of our organization and venues directories.

Art Print Program

• Have extra art prints or posters? Donate them to PCA’s Art Print Program, which provides parents, teachers, and arts educators access to hundreds of visual art prints to use in local schools.
• Help PCA organize and catalogue its growing art print collection, making it easier for parents and teachers to access the resources they need for engaging conversations with students.

Creative Conversations

• Would you like to share your thoughts and hear from others about how PCA can better serve the local and regional arts communities? Help PCA coordinate, plan and publicize Creative Conversations.

Membership and Outreach

• Help PCA spread the word about the value of the arts in our community. Learn how you can become a local arts advocate and help PCA build its membership base.

Support Services

• Assist with ongoing office administration such as data entry and filing to learn more about how a small nonprofit arts organization works.
