YOCA Spring Concert

The Youth Orchestras of Charlottesville-Albemarle will present their Spring Concert Tuesday, May 11, 6:30pm at the MLK Performing Arts Center.

Samantha Marshall Performing with the Youth Orchestra are featured soloists Samantha Marshall, flute, winner of the 2009 Martha Dugan Concerto Competition, playing Cecile Chaminade’s “Concertino” and Julia Case, winner of the 2010 CMTA Piano Concerto Competition performing the 3rd movement of Saint-Saens’ Piano Concerto No.2 in g minor. The Youth Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Charles West, will also perform Dvorak’s “New World Symphony”.

After a delightful performance by The Junior Strings, Donald Brubaker will conduct The Rita M. Evans Orchestra performing Mozart’s Symphony #25 1st mvt, Verdi’s “Overture to Nabucco” and selections from “Grease” and Bernstein’s “Somewhere” from “West Side Story.
