WeArts presents “Study No. 1 for Bodies, Metal, and Air”

Friday, March 5, 6:00, 6:30, & 7:00

Choreographer and dancer Dinah Gray and composer and installation artist Peter Traub will premiere their new work for dance and live electronics on March 5th (First Friday) at McGuffey Art Center in Studio 11. In “Study No. 1 for Bodies, Metal, and Air,” dancers use shaped sheets of steel to interact with feedback between four speakers and four microphones. The movement of bodies and objects interferes with the feedback, changing the pitches and textures by changing the acoustics of the space. After each performance, which will last around twelve minutes, the audience will be invited to play with the objects and explore the environment themselves. The piece will be performed by dancers Lisa Eller, Rose Pasquarello Beauchamp, Aaron Wine Goldman, and Dinah Gray, with sound composed and objects sculpted by Peter Traub.

Stop by Studio 11 at McGuffey this Friday at 6:00, 6:30, or 7:00 PM. Ticket for adults are $5, admission for children under 12 is FREE.
