Volunteer with the Arts Access Project!
What: The Arts Access Project partners local arts organizations with community groups to connect low-income citizens with free local arts events.
Why: Through this project, Piedmont Council for the Arts seeks to learn more about the barriers to diverse arts participation in our community—from community members themselves. The project also supports the nonprofit arts sector by expanding and diversifying arts audiences.
How: Monthly arts outings in all arts genres, dinner, conversation, and the opportunity to connect. The use of public transportation will increase long-term accessibility for audiences.
When: The Arts Access Project begins in September 2009!
To make it happen, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Connect with community groups, publicize, gather feedback, and assist with transportation to and from events! Volunteers are essential to the success of this project.
Time commitment: 10 hours a month (Some roles date-specific).
