The Garage, a music venue and art gallery next to Lee Park one block off the Downtown Mall, welcomes New York City-based band The Mommyheads for a concert on Friday, July 27 at 8:00pm.
The Mommyheads are a quirky indie pop band who have toured with the likes of Weezer, Cake, and Ben Folds. After disbanding in 1998, The Mommyheads reformed in 2008 and started writing new material. Melissa Hansen, a local Charlottesville songwriter will be opening the show in her debut at The Garage.
If you are new to attending events hosted by The Garage, audience members typically sit on the hill facing the venue (which is a renovated one-car garage) and put $5 a donation in the jar.
