The "Meet Your Neighbor" Project

This summer, the Hope Community Center presents a collaborative series of community events taking place in parks across Charlottesville. “Meet Your Neighbor,” the innovative idea of three University of Virginia undergraduates, seeks to connect the community by first reaching out to individual neighborhoods.
Each “Meet Your Neighbor” event seeks to foster a festival-type atmosphere with free music, fun, and games as well as opportunities for neighbors in the area to learn about the services provided by local non-profit organizations. In addition, each event will focus on a specific theme and include presentations and performances from community members.
The project will conclude on August 29th with a Neighborhood Block Party and Symposium to celebrate and share the results of the project with the whole community.
