Meredith Cole, Writer
Meredith Cole is a writer whose mysteries follow artist-photographer and accidental sleuth Lydia McKenzie through the underbelly of the Williamsburg (Brooklyn) art community. Her recently-released novel, Dead in the Water (St. Martin’s Press) follows her award-winning debut, Posed for Murder.
Author, screenwriter, filmmaker, teacher, blogger and mom, Meredith is a force of Nature who has won acclaim for nearly everything she has tried. She juggles an extremely busy schedule and family life—just talking to her leaves most people winded. Yet, she manages it all with a discipline and grace that is as inspiring as the fruits of her labor.
She grew up near Scottsville and she returned to Charlottesville last summer after stopovers in Washington, Paris, and New York. She says, “Charlottesville is a great place to live, and a great place to be a writer. A walk through my neighborhood with the Blue Ridge Mountains hovering on the horizon is always inspiring for me.”
The inspiration goes both ways: her efforts set a great example for the rest of the creative community.
