Diana Arge Bendixen, Visual Artist
Diana Arge Bendixen has lived and worked in Charlottesville off and on for the past six years. As an emerging visual artist, she has had six solo shows and organized a group show called “Art Recession Show” last November.
Diana works with paint, xylene transfers, polaroid transfers, collage, photography and textiles. She recently started using a Lomography “Diana” camera, and her studio is in Scottsville at the Flying Pig Center. In celebration of her upcoming move to New York, Diana’s June show at Shala in the Glass Building will showcase new work in painting and textiles and also her polaroid transfers. When she is not busy making art, Diana waits tables at Zinc Bistro and works as a massage therapist at Shala.
Diana says she is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds us in our every day life. She invites the viewer to connect with each piece and create their own story through her work.
