Local artist Julia Kindred has an exhibit at the UVa Hospital Main Lobby through the end of the month. Titled “Path’s of the Piedmont,” the works were created using a variety of approaches: in Plein Aire, by photo or memory.
Look for her depictions of local landscapes in particular. Kindred paints with oils capturing the unique quality of the region. Of the decision to focus on local places, she says, “The places do not have to be momentous. It is the journey or the telling of that journey that brings special meaning.”
