Goronwy and Me: A Narrative of Two Lives at JMRL

Heartwell.GoronwyAndMe.23076 As part of the Regional Author Series at the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library, Proal Heartwell will discuss his new work, Goronwy and Me: A Narrative of Two Lives on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00pm.

Goronwy Owen was a Welsh poet in the early 18th century. In 1757, he emigrated to Virginia for a teaching position in Williamsburg and later became rector of St. Andrew’s Parish in Brunswick County.

Proal Heartwell is a native of Brunswick County and co-director of the Village School in Charlottesville. At this event, he will discuss his journey with Goronwy and the many intersections between his life and that of the great Welsh poet. He will show pictures of his research process and sign copies of the book.

This event is FREE and open to the public.
