Now that the weather is warming up, you can stay out longer in the evenings and enjoy music outside. A great place to do so is The Garage, an art space and concert venue located in a former car garage on 1st Street across from Lee Park in downtown Charlottesville.
On any given night, you can find the Garage’s door wide open as an art opening or concert goes on. Generally, the audience gathers on the hill of the park across the street or on couches that are set up outside.
On Tuesday, April 17 at 8:00pm, the Garage will host Kelly McFarling, a San Francisco-based songstress has a gift for crafting melody driven songs with simple, honest lyrics. Her distinct percussive style of clawhammer banjo is accompanied by a two-piece folk band.
The opening act will be Goodnight, Texas, a duo that pays homage to 19th and early 20th century folk, and blues.
Please arrive come promptly at 8:00pm for the start of the show.
The concert is FREE and open to the public, but donations for the touring acts are welcome.
