Don’t miss the final screening in PCA’s Art21 Screenings & Brown Bag Lunch Discussion Series!

On Tuesday, August 21 from 12:00pm-2:00pm, PCA will screen “Balance” by Art21, the preeminent chronicler of contemporary art and artists through its Peabody Award-winning biennial television series.

In what ways can art convey equilibrium or disequilibrium? What is reality? How do artists perceive and express it? “Balance” features artists whose works explore the distinctions between balance and imbalance, and demonstrate that the smallest change in a line, a formal element, or a structure can be a radical proposition. It features the work of three contemporary artists: Rackstraw Downes, Robert Mangold, and Sarah Sze.

Pack a sandwich and stick around afterward for a discussion about the film. The screening is FREE and open to the public. CitySpace is located at 100 5th Street NE on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall.

Join the event on Facebook. There, you can find updates and links to learn more about the featured artists including podcasts, videos, and more.
