This year PCA launched the Creative Conversation Series, a local forum for arts-related idea exchange and collaboration. The goal of the program is to bring artists, organizations, educators, and business and community leaders together to develop strategies for strengthening arts and cultural life in the Charlottesville area.
The 2008-09 Creative Conversation Series covered three topics:
- Arts Education and Our Community – September 30, 2008
- Marketing Charlottesville as a Creative Community – January 13, 2009
- Increasing Community-Wide Access to the Arts – April 21, 2009
We wanted to update you on the last conversation in this year’s series. On Tuesday, April 21st, thirty community and arts leaders gathered at CitySpace in the CCDC from 12-2pm to discuss “Increasing Community-Wide Access to the Arts.”
Although the PCA staff moderated the discussion with guiding questions, participants determined the course of the discussion through sharing insights and posing other relevant questions to the group. Many guests from the community dropped by to observe the discussion. Lunch was generously provided by PCA partner Harvest Moon Catering.
