Call for Volunteers: StoryLine Project 2010

Volunteer with StoryLine!
PCA is collaborating with The Bridge PAI, Charlottesville Parks & Recreation, the Charlottesville Community Design Center for StoryLine 2010, a hands-on project for kids (4th-6th grade) in the Parks & Rec summer camp. The StoryLine Project involves collaborative mural design, storytelling, and a unique walking expedition of downtown Charlottesville.
We’re looking for creative and energetic volunteers to help Greg Kelly (The Bridge) and Pete O’Shea (Siteworks Studio) lead small teams of kids through the StoryLine experience this summer. Please help us share this information with all potential volunteers.

This year’s project will be similar in intention and scope, with an added focus on the art of storytelling. Working directly with volunteers, the kids will embark on a walking expedition to learn more about the history of Charlottesville’s downtown.
The teams’ stories will converge through the creation of a collaborative mural on the Community Chalkboard and a live outdoor Secretly Y’all storytelling event on July 21st. An exhibition of the project work will take place at the CCDC gallery in August.

- Photographers and Videographers (to document process – start to finish)
- Writers and Storytellers
