Call for Storyline 2012 Volunteers

Looking for an engaging and creative way to spend some summer mornings? Volunteer for the Fourth Annual Storyline Project!

The Storyline Project guides rising 4th-6th graders through unique walking expeditions that culminate in the creation of a mural on the Community Chalkboard, followed by a public reception. Storyline 2012 will explore the people and places of Monticello Road. You can check out photos from previous Storyline Projects in PCA’s online gallery.

Storyline 2012 will take place from July 9-12 from 10:00am-12:30pm daily. Storyline will be a lot of fun and a great way to connect with young people through the creative process. We are looking for creative and energetic volunteers to help us lead small teams of kids through the StoryLine experience this summer, including:

- Photographers and Videographers (to document the process from start to finish)
- Writers and Storytellers
- Artists, Designers, Architects to assist with drawings and studies for the mural, exhibition at CitySpace
- Historians or people who know about the history of Monticello Road.
- People who are charismatic, enthusiastic and good with youth

You do not need to be available for all dates in order to volunteer. Volunteers must attend a mandatory Storyline Project Volunteer Orientation on June 27 from 6:30-8:00pm at The Bridge PAI.

Still need to feel inspired to volunteer? Watch this amazing video about the Storyline Project by Squid and Beard.

Please email sarah@charlottesvillearts.org by June 26 if interested in volunteering.

The Storyline Project is sponsored by Piedmont Council for the Arts, The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative, Charlottesville Parks & Recreation, the Thomas Jefferson Center For the Protection of Free Speech, Mas Tapas, SiteWorks, and Monticello.
