Bill T. Jones Film Screenings

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Get to know the internationally acclaimed dancer and choreographer Bill T. Jones before his arrival in Charlottesville.
Bill T. Jones, one of the most powerful forces in modern dance, will come to the University of Virginia for the first time in November. To set the tone for this monumental visit, the University of Virginia Library and Piedmont Virginia Community College Dance Club are pleased to host screenings of the film, “Bill T. Jones: Still/Here,” an excellent introduction to Bill T. Jones and his process of including gestures and movement from dancers and non-dancers alike in the choreography of his pieces.
There are two opportunities to view this program. The first will be Thursday, October 23rd at the PVCC Black Box, and the second on Wednesday, October 29th at U.Va.‘s South Meeting Room in Newcomb Hall. Both screenings will take place at 7:30 pm and are free and open to the public.
