Are you noticing a sudden influx of brightly colored dogs and cats while running errands? It’s all a part of the first ever “Dogs and Cats Around Town” event to benefit the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA (CASPCA).
The brainchild of local resident Cynthia Viejo, “Dogs and Cats About Town” recruited artists to decorate cat and dog statues which were then placed at small businesses in Charlottesville. In addition to contributing to the attractiveness of their locations, the statues are raising money for real animals at the CASPCA. You can win one of the nineteen dog or cat statues decorated by local artists by purchasing a raffle ticket.
Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $20. Tickets can be purchased in person wherever you see a statue or online. You can see a gallery of the statues along with a list of the participating artists here.
You can also follow Dogs and Cats Around Town on Facebook for updates.
