Local shop Sun Bow Trading Co. (located in Downtown Charlottesville) is hosting an exhibit of rare, tribal Anatolian and Persian animal decorations from the private collection of Saul Barodofsky through September.
Titled “Camel Flowers In Bloom At Sun Bow Trading Company,” the exhibition includes 52 pieces. Included are handmade chest medallions (camel flowers), camel headdresses, bridles, knee-pads (shishajel), and whips created mainly by women living along the old Silk Road.
While none of the collection will be for sale, visitors may take a free exhibition brochure.
