Annual Meeting: Success!
We want to follow-up and let everyone know that our annual meeting on June 25th was quite a success!
The membership meeting portion of the night went smoothly. Changes to our by-laws were passed. We said goodbye to a few board members and elected several new ones to begin service with PCA.
We had over sixty people in attendance for the Director’s Report. Maggie summarized our newly released 2007-08 Annual Report, highlighting some of the accomplishments from the past year and providing vision for where we are going.
Kate, our new Communications and Website Manager, gave an overview of our recently redesigned website, noting the strengths of our arts calendar functionality, more accessible design, and increased online traffic. She also highlighted our bi-monthly newsletter, The Arts in Your Inbox, which features five upcoming arts events and is sent to over 1000 people.
The reception following the meeting was held in the Main Hall Gallery of McGuffey and was catered by Harvest Moon. With art on the walls, energetic conversation, and great food, we enjoyed an hour of celebrating PCA’s accomplishments from this past year and our new home at McGuffey. Throughout the evening, PCA interns took polaroid pictures of all in attendance and invited them to write “I support the arts in Cville” on their pictures. Although some folks tried to hide from our cameras, I think we got most of you!
In summary, the meeting portion of the evening was efficient and interesting. The reception was lively, creative, communal, and quite encouraging.
